ASCC 2024 Highlights

The 14th Asian Control Conference (ASCC 2024) recently concluded in Dalian, bringing together experts and scholars from the control science and engineering fields across the Asia-Pacific region. The conference provided a platform for discussing cutting-edge technologies and applications in control systems.

During the closing ceremony, several awards were announced, including the ACA Fellow Award, ACA Outstanding Contribution Award, ACA Temasek Young Educator Award, and ACA Wook Hyun Kwon Education Award. Among the distinguished recipients, Professor Yugeng Xi was honored with the ACA Fellow Award.

About the ACA Fellow Award

The ACA Fellow Award is established by the Asian Control Association (ACA) to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of control, automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, and systems in the Asia-Oceania region. This award acknowledges excellence in theoretical research, technological innovation, engineering applications, and efforts in promoting academic exchange, talent cultivation, and international cooperation.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Asian Control Organization and the ASCC. It is also the first time the ACA Fellow Award has been established and presented, with 21 renowned scholars receiving this honor.

Professor Yugeng Xi’s Contributions

Professor Yugeng Xi is a distinguished professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has been instrumental in advancing the development and academic activities of the Asian Control Organization. In 2000, he organized the 3rd Asian Control Conference (ASCC2000) in Shanghai, significantly fostering collaboration and exchange between control scientists in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Professor Xi served as the President of the Asian Control Professors Association (ACPA, the predecessor of ACA) from 2001 to 2002 and as the President of ACA from 2011 to 2012. He is currently a member of the ACA Advisory Committee.
